Both tribes brought up very good points in their essays and showed teamwork in their creation. Kimba made some very good arguments in support of freedom of speech and non-derogatory use of the word. Pantera's assesrtion that the word brings back memories of a terrible time in our nation's history and is loaded with assertions of inferiority was a very valid point of why it should not be used. I did take issue with some grammar and sentence construction in Pantera's writing though, notably:
So if the word itself is derived from something that is viewed as bad, calling someone a nigger is pretty much saying they are "bad/evil" in a sense, and go back to the Jim Crow and the slave era, using blacks as slaves, treating them like animals, and thinking they are inferior to whites, and why? Because of the color of their skin, because the color of their skin is not white, it's not good, it's black, which is bad.
The writing needed 1 more proof-reading, so all else being equal, Pantera loses some points on grammar. Where the biggest difference is though here came in the debating part itself. One tribe really killed in this debate, while the other tribe didn't take it seriously and just made comical remarks.
